Primary 5 Preparatory Workshop

Based on the observations throughout the years, students’ results usually drop by 1 grade when they enter P5. With the reduction of weighted assessment in P5 and additional school activities, students tend to find it difficult to score well in their Semestral Assessment.

In these workshops, we are going to address this issue and help students familiarise with the changes, and stay ahead of the demanding syllabus. Students are going to learn the following:

Oral – video conversation
Yes, it is video conversation with moving pictures rather than still pictures. After this workshop, students will be equipped with answering techniques, and prepare themselves with the varieties of topic.

Paper 1 – Creative Writing
The requirements of composition are different for P5. It is also a rather big change from P4 format to P5. To bridge the gap, students will not only learn about the new requirements, but also the essential skills of story telling.

Paper 2 – Comprehension
The passages becomes longer, the questions get more complicated and oh, there are more questions to answer too! But fret not, in this workshop, students will learn the essential skills to answer the comprehension questions, and more importantly, gain confidence in dealing with the changes.

PSLE Preparatory Workshop

In these workshop, students are going to learn the following:

Oral – P5 is over, and your child may still be unsure about what to expect from the examiner during the oral exam. You may think that scoring well in oral exam depends on luck. But, luck favours only the prepared students. After this workshop, students will be trained to think like an examiner. As the old saying goes, 知己知彼,百战百胜。

Paper 1 – Creative Writing
Composition writing is not just about putting many good phrases together. A good composition is made up of a a story that excites readers and that requires thorough planning and great observation skills. In this workshop, students will learn the the essential skills of story telling, and skills that can ignite readers’ interest.

Paper 2 – Comprehension
You can probably picture your child’s expression when you mention ‘Comprehension’. Students’ fear of comprehension is real. They may have had bad experiences and are uncertain of the necessary skills to tackle the questions. However, this workshop will equip students with the essential skills to answer all types of comprehension questions, and more importantly, gain confidence in dealing with their fears.
